The tests will cover the following:
LISTENING EXAM:
This exam will include vocabulary from weeks 11-16.
Use and trust your instincts. Stay focused and listen
carefully to the teacher before selecting your answer. Some of the questions
will try and trick you.
ORAL PRESENTATION
TEST:
Present a movie review presentation. Practice English
speaking, organizing ideas, and giving opinions. Students will include
supporting details, including plot summary, favorite part, critiques, and
rating.
WRITTEN TEST:
Review the Communication book, Reader’s and Writer’s
Notebook, homework writing
books, and quizzes and unit tests for weeks 11-16.
Focus will be on all
vocabulary from Weeks 11-16. Students should be familiar with definition,
spelling, and using it in a sentence.
Reading Street 5.2 Stories will include The Gymnast, The Skunk Ladder,
and The Unsinkable Wreck of the RMS
Titanic. Students should have
a solid understanding of each story’s main plot points and be able to
demonstrate comprehension of key events and ideas.
The following
conventions will be assessed: Who vs. whom; negative prefixes; contractions and
negatives; and adjectives and articles.
We have asked the students to bring home
their books so they can prepare for the exams. Please make sure to study to
ensure success on the exam. Good luck, and remember to ask questions in class
if you need any clarifications!
